A psalmist and preacher of the Gospel, Michelle D. Bennett serves double- duty in the Kingdom of God. Michelle’s Godly purpose was established even before her birth, when it was spoken to her mother that she would be greatly used in ministry.
Growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana, Michelle tapped into her musical talents at a very young age. While other children were playing, Michelle was on her front porch leading her very own praise and worship service. By the age of 10, she was serving as the church drummer of her father’s church. Her responsibilities in the ministry grew; by age 12 she was teaching Sunday School and teaching and directing the choir.
After moving to Chicago, Michelle began to develop her musical talents and joined Gospel music groups Visions-A Choral Ministry, and later Just Friends, where she served as a member and integral voice for several years. As Michelle grew as a psalmist, she not only perfected her gift of song, but also her ability to invoke the presence of God through that gift.
Michelle has shared the stage with gospel recording artists such as Kurt Carr, Rance Allen, Lisa Page Brooks, VaShawn Mitchell, Lonnie Hunter, Dorothy Norwood, and the late Albertina Walker, just to name a few. She has also toured abroad in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the British Virgin Islands singing the praises of the Lord. In 2016, Michelle released her first single “In This Place”, which was nominated for Praise and Worship Song of the Year by Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards. She was also nominated for both Praise and Worship Female Vocalist of the Year and Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year. Michelle's highly anticipated EP, “I Finally Found My Place” was released March 2, 2017. To God be ALL the glory!
In August of 1999, God challenged Michelle to walk further into her calling of not only a singer, but a preacher and teacher of His Word. Michelle humbly accepted that call, and has been a sought-out vessel of God’s Word ever since. In addition to ministering the spoken Word from the pulpit, Michelle has been the featured speaker at many conferences for women, youth and singles, across the nation.
Michelle has been a faithful servant in ministry most of her life, serving on the ministerial staff of New Nation Apostolic Ministries, in Chicago, Illinois, under the leadership of her father, Bishop Joe L. Bennett for several years. Ever being attentive to the voice of God, she relocated to the DC Metropolitan area in January 2010, where she is called upon to lend her voice to other ministries leading worship, vocal training, teaching workshops and preaching the Word. Michelle is a member of The Father’s House of Baltimore, under the leadership of Apostle Yolanda and Pastor Kori Stith, where she humbly serves as Executive Pastor. Her desire is to always be a reflection of Jesus Christ in everything she does as she continues to share the message of God's love through word and song.
